The CIMIC Group company wins new contracts for two projects in Victoria and one in Tasmania
The Thiess Group, part of CIMIC, a subsidiary of our parent company, Grupo ACS, recently secured three contracts for gold and critical mineral projects in Australia. Specifically, it obtained new contracts for the Sunday Creek gold and antimony project and the Fosterville gold mine, both in Victoria, and an extension for the Rosebery polymetallic base metal mine in Tasmania.
The Sunday Creek contract, awarded by southern Cr4oss Gold Consolidated, covers the construction of the underground draw-through shaft and includes access roads, the main draw-through shaft and support services, as well as lateral advancement.
The Fosterville project, awarded by Agnico Eagle, involves the provision of drilling and casing services at this gold mine. It includes the excavation and casing of a 374-meter-deep upward drill shaft, a key component of the mine's significant ventilation upgrade.
Thiess has finally signed a two-year extension to its shotcrete and cemented rock backfill contract at MMG's Rosebery mine in Tasmania. The original three-year contract has delivered positive results in terms of production safety for the client, with not a single incident recorded during this period.
The contracts will be executed by PYBAR, Thiess's underground metal mining company.
