Standing up for rural people is a value that I learnt from my parents and grandparents, who were active in working for their communities.
I was raised on my parent’s dairy farm at Bracewell west of Mt. Larcom. We grew mixed crops of beans, peas, peanuts and grain to support our farm income.
By the age of seventeen – I had worked as a contract milker, picked beans on our neighbour’s farm before working on the railway as a fettler.
I have a broad range of business experience including a fuel distributorship in Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald, Bundaberg and Maryborough/Hervey Bay. I have also owned a local hardware business in Gladstone which was managed day to day by my competent staff.
My work experience is proving to be of great value to me in my role as Member for Flynn
