Indra develops a remote support solution for defense systems maintenance

This new solution speeds up intervention times, saves travel costs and maximizes the operability of critical defense platforms and systems

Indra develops a remote support solution for defense systems maintenance

The Spanish multinational technology company Indra has launched an innovative remote assistance solution that transforms the maintenance of defense systems on land, sea, and air. Thanks to this technology, field technicians can receive specialized support in real time, without the need for experts to physically travel to the operation site.

Maintenance of equipment such as radars, aircraft, ships, or armored vehicles often requires the direct presence of highly qualified personnel, even in remote or difficult-to-access environments. To reduce costs and improve the operational availability of these critical systems, Indra has developed a solution that connects field technicians with experts available 24/7. This communication is conducted through secure and encrypted channels, ensuring confidentiality and efficiency.

The system also incorporates simultaneous translation into several languages, eliminating language barriers and facilitating access to international specialists. Technicians can use devices such as smartphones, tablets, or smart glasses to share live images, receive precise instructions, and continue working without interruption.

This breakthrough has been possible thanks to the collaboration with Zerintia Technologies, a company specializing in digital solutions for industrial environments. Together, they have created a tool that not only optimizes maintenance processes but also strengthens response capacity in strategic operations.

Rafael Molano, Director of Business Development for Indra's In Service Support (ISS) area, points out that this system "not only streamlines maintenance and eliminates geographical barriers, it also allows for much more orderly and efficient work, planning interventions and recording the actions carried out to achieve greater control over all the work performed on each system, generating shared intelligence with all the data collected."
