It is the main non-EU market in the 2026 sector plan signed between ICEX and the Serrano Ham Consortium
The Spanish Serrano Ham Consortium recently announced the signing, together with ICEX (Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade), of a new sector plan for 2026. This initiative, with a budget of €120,000 (contributed equally by both parties), aims to strengthen the international promotion of high-quality Spanish Serrano ham.
The campaign will focus on two strategic markets: the Netherlands, within the European Union, and Australia, the main strategic third market.
Promotional activities will be geared towards enhancing the positioning of high-quality Serrano ham under the ConsorcioSerrano seal, both among industry professionals and end consumers. Álvaro Díaz de Liaño, Marketing and Promotion Director of the Consortium, told Europa Press that this plan "allows us to maintain our investment in a market as important as the Netherlands while reinforcing our commitment to third markets like Australia, where differentiating high-quality Serrano ham from other cured products is key."
