ACS Group wins construction contract for an aqueduct in Australia

This first phase constitutes a strategic initiative to strengthen resilience to drought in southeastern Queensland

CPB Contractors, part of the CIMIC Group, which is itself part of our parent company, the ACS Group, has been selected by Seqwater, in consortium with Nacap, to execute Phase 1 of the Toowoomba-Warwick water pipeline project, a project promoted by the Government of Queensland, Australia.

This first phase involves the construction of a 47-kilometer pipeline between Toowoomba and Greenmount, which will guarantee a permanent water supply to the communities of Nobby, Cambooya, Greenmount, and Clifton. The new Highfields reservoirs, pumping stations, diversion points, and associated auxiliary infrastructure will also be built. Finally, the new infrastructure will be integrated with the existing water supply networks in the region.

Participation in this project is expected to generate approximately AU$75 million in revenue for the CIMIC Group – approximately €46 million.

Juan Santamaría, CEO of Grupo ACS and Executive Chairman of CIMIC Group, stated, “CPB Contractors has successfully executed more than 100 major water infrastructure projects across Australia. Together with Nacap and Seqwater, we will leverage this expertise for the Toowoomba-Warwick waterway to strengthen water security in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs region, providing an essential water supply as a contingency measure against drought.”
